Commission on the Status of Women

Established in 1977 as a City department, the Cambridge Commission on the Status of Women (CCSW) works in an inclusive manner to promote equality and justice for all women and girls and advocates on their behalf with other City departments and officials, local organizations, and state government to increase their opportunities through program development, policy recommendations, and public education in key issue areas identified by the Commission as significantly affecting women and girls. Membership includes up to 20 members.

Meeting Frequency: Generally meets on the second Wednesday of every month, from 6:30pm-8pm at 51 Inman St., Women's Commission Conference Room, 2nd floor. They do not meet in July and August.

Affecting Legislation: Chapter 2.88 of the Cambridge Municipal Code.

Term Limit: 3 year Terms, unlimited number of Terms.

Positions: 3 in total. 3 occupied. No vacancies.
