WHEREAS:

It has come to the attention of the City Council that the 20th Annual Cambridge Family Literacy Day is being held on Saturday November 5, 2016; and

 

 

WHEREAS:

The Cambridge Family Literacy Day is for children and families from Pre-K to 3rd grade and exposes young children to the joys of reading and storytelling; and

 

 

WHEREAS:

Now a longstanding event in the City of Cambridge, the City Council recognizes the work of Mary Grassi who has been collaborating on the Cambridge Family Literacy Day for the past 20 years; and

 

 

WHEREAS:

Mary’s dedication to Cambridge Family Literacy Day has instilled a love of reading and literature into the minds of many young children who have carried their love of reading into adulthood; now therefore be it

 

 

RESOLVED:

That the City Council go on record thanking Mary Grassi for her commitment to the youth and families of Cambridge and congratulating her on the 20th year of the Cambridge Family Literacy Day; and be it further

 

 

RESOLVED:

That the City Clerk be and hereby is requested to forward a suitably engrossed copy of this resolution to Mary Grassi on behalf of the entire City Council.
